It has 20 or more magnificent beaches, linked by hilly narrow roads you can explore in open-air Jeeps or “mini-mokes. “ In Gustavia, the island’s Lilliputian port, quaint streets lead past small markets, bakeries, and dozens of small shops selling French perfumes, sportswear, watches, and crystal. Day 6 - Scarborough, Trinidad
You don’t have to go to Scotland to play golf at St. Andrews; there’s a course by that name right here on the island. And you don’t have to travel during Carnival time to experience the celebration with a cultural show performed here, where the tradition began. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Boca da Valeria (Amazon River), Brazil
The grass huts, log canoes, and gentle lifestyle of the remarkable river people of the Amazon River are unforgettable to see and experience. Day 13 - Parintins, Brazil
Cathedrals and churches play a prominent role in the cityscape of Parintins, reflective of the importance of faith in the citizens’ lives. The scale is appropriate to a central Amazon River town of only 50,000—much smaller than the nearby state capital of Manaus. Accessible only by air or water, this isolated village offers passengers a true insight into jungle cultures that have remained unchanged for centuries. (B,L,D)

Day 14 - Manaus, Brazil
This Brazilian city offers rugged adventures, from hunting alligators by flashlight to taking a guided jungle trek. You may decide to take a river boat cruise up the Rio Negro to the “Meeting of the Waters” where the Amazon is born. Or, take in the city’s historic sights. Visit the magnificently restored Neo-classical Opera House, the Military Zoo devoted to the wildlife of the Amazon, and the Indian Museum with its displays of blowguns, feather headdresses, and ceremonial objects.
