Hawaii Cruise - Itinerary
At Honolulu, you are met with the traditional fresh flower lei on arrival. Your home for the next seven days is one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s festively decorated ships. From Hilo, marvel at the snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano and the surrounding exotic greenhouse of lush tropical plants, towering banyan trees, thundering falls, and enough flowers to fill a rainbow. On Maui, the “Valley Island,” every mountain gorge is filled with lush foliage. Travel past fields of sugarcane, mango, coffee, flowering ginger, and other crops to see the famed Iao Valley Needle, a 2,250-foot lava rock that seems to pierce the clouds.
At Kona, you are reminded of legends such as King Kamehameha, Captain James Cook, and The Fire Goddess Pele. Here sits Kialuea – one of the world’s most active volcanoes – above tropical rainforests, lava deserts, careening waterfalls, and beaches of white, green, and black. At Nawiliwili, discover why Hollywood has had an ongoing love affair with this part of Hawaii. Scenes from Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, King Kong, and South Pacific were all filmed here. Enjoy the scenic Wailua River, the hauntingly beautiful Fern Grotto, the valley of the Sleeping Giant, and Opaeka’s Falls where the Wailua River makes a dramatic plunge over a night cliff. You’ll see places you never dreamed existed – and you’ll always dream of going back.
