Holy Land: Rome to Athens - Itinerary

Ancient history comes alive on this cruise!  Featuring ports that allow you to explore New Testament sites along with Egypt, land of the Exodus; you also have time to relish the quaint islands and picture-perfect beaches of the Greek isles.  In Athens visit the Acropolis and magnificent Parthenon.  Take an excursion to Corinth, the city of Paul’s extensive personal ministry and challenging letter writing.  Visit the picturesque island of Santorini, reputed to have the best sunsets in the world, and Patmos, the island where John received the Revelation. Visit Ephesus to explore its magnificent excavations.

 

Stop at the ports of Haifa and Ashdod and trace the steps of Jesus to Nazareth, Capernaum, the Sea of Galilee, and Jerusalem.  Continue to Cairo, where white-sailed feluccas (ancient native boats) ply the waters of the Nile, and visit the Sphinx and Great Pyramids.  In Alexandria, visit Fort Qait Bey built on the ruins of Faros Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.  Journeying back across the Mediterranean, pause in Sorrento for a drive along Italy’s Amalfi Coast, or pay a visit to the colorful isle of Capri.  End in the spectacular "Eternal City" of Rome, with its grand and imposing Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and Trevi fountain.
